Rodney Tom is out of the race!

That's it, folks. Rodney Tom has just announced that he's dropping out of the race against Darcy Burner for the democratic nomination to get Reichert out of Congress in the 8th CD. Tom will endorse Burner and will work to support her campaign.

Kudos to Rodney Tom on a graceful exit from the race and for putting his weight behind Darcy. Very cool.

I'm interested to hear what you fine folks think about the Conservative Party taking control of Canada's government... is that a reflection of US policies and trends? Are those wacky Canucks just following our lead? Are conservative ideals actually representative of the majority of us West'rn civ'lized cuntries? Is this going to make any difference in the world? At all?

Randy Gordon has officially backed out of the race for Congress in Washington's 8th CD. This leaves East-siders with a solid chance at electing a Democratic Representative that, oh I don't know, ACTUALLY REPRESENTS them.

Pelz for State Party Chair

So, with Paul Berendt on his way out, there is plenty of speculation regarding who will be in line to take his place.

I just want to put out there--without really knowing who else is going to be in the candidate pool--that I heart Dwight Pelz.

Here's an idea: let's get a LIBERAL (gasp!) to lead the state Democratic Party! Dwight is a true progressive with the passion, organization, and political savvy to get our butts in gear.

We dems are in a great spot right now with all of the "Values-Lapses" by the GOP and here's an opportunity to strengthen our organization even more, and I think Dwight will help us do that.

Plus he's cuter than a bug's ear.

Just my two cents.

So all of you NPR junkies probably also heard the discussion on "The Conversation" about astronomic biology--or the idea that there is intelligent life outside of Earth.

(By the way, I'd put links on here but I haven't learned how to do that yet, so you are on your own.)

The guest was talking about some biological shiznit that I'll never comprehend, but I did have a thought (this is a rarity in itself). You know how we always picture God as this conservative Being? I mean, I think Jesus was probably a socialist--I mean, read the Bible already. But the GOP has got us believing that God is staring down at us with his snowey white beard, laughing a jolley laugh and preparing his sleigh for all the good boys and....

oh shit, sorry. wrong guy.

Like I was saying, the GOP has got us believing that God is staring down at us going, "NO! I didn't create homos! You people are BAD!" and "Stem cell research, who do you think you are?! ME?!?!"

But what if my Main Man God is up there in his "Howard Dean Rules my Kingdom!" t-shirt going, "Jesus Christ, you guys. You and your intelligent design vs. evolution shit. You found the scientific evidence I left for you morons that shows that you actually did come from apes. Deal with it. Will all you bible-thumpers PUH-LEESE acknowledge that science is actually legitimate and, oh, I don't know, THAT I CREATED SCIENCE?!?!"
