Eyman Adds "Bigot" To An Already Impressive List Of Nicknames

Tim Eyman has an impressive list of nicknames he's received over the years. Watch Salesman. Asshat. Embezzler. Gambling Industry Hack. Now, it looks as if he wants to add bigot to that list. As Amy posted earlier, the state legislature finally made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual preference. The Seattle Times reports Eyman waited a tasteful two-days to claim his new nickname:

Tim Eyman filed an initiative and a referendum this morning aimed at getting rid of the gay rights bill passed by the Legislature on Friday.

State law bans discrimination based on race, sex, religion, marital status, disability and other categories. The gay rights measure passed by the Legislature adds sexual orientation to that list...

"Politicians are deciding based on special interest group pressure and their own reelection calculations," Eyman said in a statement emailed to reporters. "The voters have watched this disgusting display of arrogance and selfishness for weeks."

Gov. Gregoire, in response to the news, said it best:

"It strikes me as counter to the values of the state of Washington to have an initiative now that would say to the people of the state of Washington it's ok to discriminate..."

You'd think so, Chris. But it always seemed to me that everything Tim Eyman does is counter to the values of Washington state.

can we believe I'm citing Ken Schram?

Okay, I seriously don't get this. Why is Tim Eyman bothering to stick his fat stupid face into this issue? Since when does civil rights equal unfair tax burden?

I have to think that we need to watch where the money comes from on this, and Ken Schram-- who usually makes me a little queasy-- backs me up:

Timmy knows a cash cow when he sees one, and putting together an initiative and a referendum to overturn the gay rights measure means money in his pocket and publicity for his other political antics.

Love it. When Tim-Tim sets up his Gay Hatred campaign, we should take a look at the PDC filings and see who's contributing to the bigotry. Won't it be fascinating to learn who's paying for hate?

Bigot? Maybe...

He probably is a bigot, but it's irrelevant. He does it for money, whether or not he actually believes his own crazy isht is beside the point.

Tim Eyman makes his living by filing horrifying initiatives which appeal to salt of the earth, red-state washingtonians, who in turn fill his pockets in an effort to stick it to liberal Seattlites. His initiatives don't have to win to generate his income; they just have to get press and excite his base. Win or lose, he exploits conservative rural citizens, who see him as their champion. I feel bad for them.

That's why I hope he gets cholera and rots in a pool of his own urine.

PS, don't we say 'sexual orientation' now, not 'preference?'
